Corona Virus Action Plan

The Corona Virus has generated a lot of concern and anxiety on a world wide scale but also here in Bell County.  The District has prepared an action plan (click here) in an effort to assure continuity of operations.  It’s also important to note that the water treatment practices used in Texas and at our Lake Belton Water Plant that supplies water to Copperas Cove, Fort Hood, Killeen, Harker Heights, Nolanville, Belton and to the 439 Water Supply Corporation are effective at eradicating the corona virus from our drinking water as confirmed by this Center for Disease Control posting.  Additionally, our wastewater facilities employ free chlorine and Ultra Violet disinfection practices as our final steps of treatment eradicating viruses from return flows. Now that there is a confirmed case in Bell County, we are in Level 1 of the action plan.
