UPDATE:
Due to a rupture along a transmission line, Bell County WCID 1 customers along and east of FM 93 along FM 439 and east to the Belton Water Treatment Plant are under a boil water order.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
For questions regarding the boil order, please contact Ricky Garrett at 254-501-9243.
On Monday evening an above ground air-relief valve assembly burst sending water all around the vicinity and across Water Works Road. The air relief assembly supports the proper function of the 30 inch transmission main which runs from the Belton Water Plant to just east of Nolanville near Levy Crossing road. Crews successfully isolated the section of main to make repairs about 10 this morning. Water service will be restored late this evening or early in the morning. A boil water advisory will be in effect once water service is restored.
